Useful Resources

There are thousands of websites geared towards children of all ages to boost their learning. I have rounded up a few great websites for your children to learn from.

Reading and Writing

1. Story Online

This website is fantastic for children that love listening to stories. Story online features accomplished actors and actresses reading some of their favourite children's books.  Each story comes with a free activity guide.

2. Free Children's Stories

Founded in 2008, their mission is to offer traditional, meaningful storytelling to every child, parent, or teacher around the globe with access to the internet, for free.

3. Oxford Owl

After registering for a free account, your child will be able to access lots of books to challenge their reading based on their book level in school.

4. Phonics Play

Phonics play offers a variety of free games to make learning new sounds fun!

Maths

1. Mathletics

Children from reception up to Key Stage 4 can enjoy a 48 hour free trial with Mathletics.

2. Children's Maths Dictionary

This website is great for looking up mathematical terms and also has lots of free printable maths posters that you can hang up around the house.

3. Topmarks

Topmarks divide games into age categories: 3-5, 5-7, 7-11, and 11-14 years.  Categories cover all relevant areas of the National Curriculum.
